As soon as the epoxy won't flow which is about 5 minutes after applying the epoxy.

Let me run another method by you. Go ahead and let the epoxy wick up onto the front of the foregrip. About 20 to 30 minutes into the epoxy set, take a paper towel and fold it 4 times, forming a firm corner. Now wet that corner with alcohol and use it to crisply remove excess epoxy by holding it to the foregrip just about an eighth inch beyond the rod blank. Turn the rod once or twice and you'll have a sharp, perfect epoxy edge on the foregrip.
If it still wicks a bit more in the next few minutes, repeat the same process until it stops moving. ................. Re: taped off edges

I did exactly as Tom says, but on a black rubber winding check. I had been a bit sloppy and needed to wipe off most of the epoxy. I ended up with a nice sharp edge and a band of epoxy about 1/16" around the winding check Re: taped off edges

Like Tom said but uae COFFEE FILTER folded in half works better and gives a nice crisp edge Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
