Mirror Coat

Has anyone tried System Three Mirror Coat on wraps. I was given a large bottle and have used some for some wood working projects. It seems to have all the good qualities of a good finish. I finished a test wrap with it and it has been setting outside for two weeks. So far it looks good.

You might do a search on it here - I know it's been discussed before.

I looked at their web page. Says for table tops, decoupe, etc. Wonder if it will stand up to rod flex???

Yes, but it's said to be for interior use only. I haven't personally tried it, but have noticed that the stock on hand at the local Woodcraft store is always water white clear. All the other epoxies are amber or quite yellow. It does seem very thin.

I bought a System Three Bar Top epoxy finish from the Klingspor Woodworking booth at the ICRBE two years ago and have been using it on guide wraps since then. Its a 2 to 1 mix, goes on easily, no problems with bubbles (I use a mixer w/ball bearing) and I have had absolutely no problems with it. When I get close to running out I will be ordering more. It was a lot less expensive than the normal finishes too.

Thanks guys. I think I will go ahead and use it. I was given two large bottles, can't argue with the cost. I just need to find a couple smaller bottles to transfer it into. Thanks for the comments.
