Dale Clemons Rod Lathe Parts HELP!

Hello all,
I just got out my old ( Late 1970's ) Clemons rod wrapper that has not seen the light of day for several years. I found all the bits and pieces but on my first repair I noticed the thread was looking frayed. It looks like I have worn the chrome off the 2 bars that apply the tension to my thread. Looks like I should replace it if I can find a new one, or make some thing that will work. I also need the little 8 groved wheel that is on the end of the thread tenion wire. It looks like it could be wore just a little..

Does any one know where I mite be able to get these pieces?

I hope you guys can help me out..

Thanks,
Jeff Haley

Those carriages were discontinued many, many years ago. The chrome pigtails can be bought from a place such as McMaster-Carr. Or, you can buy a new carriage (newer style) from Renzetti.

Jeff,
All that you have to do is to take the bars off, and polish them on various grades of sand paper - finishing with 2400 grit. No rough edges to catch the thread.

You can put the 8 grooved wheel on a lathe, spin it up and polish out the grooves and you will be good to go.

If you call Renzetti, the parts off there tread transport will work ( they made the lathe) Good luck.

Thanks for all your help.
I got intouch with Dick French and he not only had the parts I was looking but he had 1 of his new thread caddys and let me have it for a real good price.
He still has most parts for the Clemons wrapping lathe.
