What is the best way to remove stickers from SC5 blanks without pulling or melting the paint off. I do a split grip and the stickers are longer than the rear grip and the paint is coming off with the sticker? I havn't tried heat yet....Thanks Re: Remove stickers

A little heat will usually do the trick for me, and then goo gone for any sticky residue. Walt Davenport "Roadhouse Rods" Re: Remove stickers

I think blank makers put the stickers there to have ID on a blank when it is returned for warranty, but with the popularity of split grips, I'm surprised it is taking so long to put a short label there. Even if they don't expect them to be there on a return, it would help rod makers a lot if they didn't have to remove them when using split grips. Another solution would be to have less aggressive adhesive so that the label could be moved without damaging it. Come on, blank makers, let's get into the game! Re: Remove stickers

Never had a problem getting the stickers off any of the Croixs, but phenix sent me a blank that had the sticker on w/ 2 coats of epoxy over it. Talk about a PIA! Re: Remove stickers

I always remove factory stickers by scraping with a finger nail. Any adhesive residue is removed by using Goo Gone or something similar. Thanks, Chad Huderle Huderle Custom Rods Prior Lake, MN Re: Remove stickers

If the paint is coming off with the label, I think I would be asking for a shipping label to send it back IMO. Re: Remove stickers

I have never pulled any paint off of an SC blank when removing the sticker. A little heat and pull it slow. I shove them inside the butt of the rod before I put the butt on. _________________________________________ "Angling is extremely time consuming. I'm with Michael on this aggravation and paint damageing butt sticker. When trying to peel the sticker off the blue green flip paint comes with it. Maybe I got some blanks that had been sitting to long or who knows what. I called Croix and after talking to a few I was told to use MEK. It works but don't soak it to heavy and to long because it does soften the finish.... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
