A buddy of mine is designing a logo for me. I have never dealt with decals/logos, so I do not know what would look good on a blank. [www.rodbuilding.org]
This is the logo. Any suggestions for improvements are welcomed. You can respond here or shoot me an email at ReedRods@gmail.com. Re: Need Input on Logo/Decal Design

That rod/reel isn;t going to show very well once you get it to the size needed to go on a rod. You're looking at a big image - think what it will look like 1- 1.5" wide... ----------------- AD Re: Need Input on Logo/Decal Design

I'm almost positive he will print it "real size" to see what it will look like. (at least I hope he will) Re: Need Input on Logo/Decal Design

Gold silver and maybe white on most graphite - being dark in color -- would stand out better
Or even any bright colors ---- Stick in in there face Bill - willierods.com Re: Need Input on Logo/Decal Design

Please don't take this wrong. Is your buddy a graphic designer? I would simplify it (remove the detail) and focus on the name in some unique way. Do an image search for "logo" on Google and you will see that most are focused around a name, letter and/or simple design. Very few go into much detail, and the brain quickly dismisses them and you end up remembering the simple ones.

Use the rod and line to form the oval around the name.

Thanks for all the input. We are still tweaking it and having never done a decal on a rod, the suggestions have helped a lot. @ Chuck - my buddy is an architect, so he has access to a lot of software I don't have access to. Plus I have no drawing skills. I'm wanting something that will also look good as a window sticker once I get some made as well as a rod decal.
Thanks for the help. Jeremy W. Reed Re: Need Input on Logo/Decal Design

Your decal will mainly be 1 color. Try the graphic your buddy made in one color and you'll see what needs to be modified. Try printing it small. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
