Pac Bay 2-Part rod finish

Is anyone familiar with Pacific Bay's 2-part rod finish? It is sold in small packets much like Cabela's used to sell. I always used Cabela's packets because they were great for small projects or a single build. I understand that the Cabela's product, which is no longer available, was made by FLEXCOAT. Any info on the Pac-Bay product would be appreciated.

Pacific Bay’s rod finish is good and like any other manufacturers rod finish you will have to get used to it and adjust your finishing techniques based on its own properties. No other finish is at such a low price point, but as your know limited to how many guides you can get down with a little package. For single guide repair the packages cannot be beat.

Mud Hole offers the Pac Bay finish in the packages you’re looking for at:

And the Pac Bay packaged epoxy is available at:

If your finishing multiple rods, you might want to step up to pre-loaded syringes like:

Joe,
Our high school rod building classes use the PAC BAY two part packets. I was leery to use them as first as I was concerned about students not mixing the entire pack together and therefore having a mix that didn't set but that was never a problem. The pot life seems shorter than Thread Master Lite mixed with syringes but for a standard spin rod there is plenty of time to get a coat on before its start to get tacky. Our large bottles of finish tended to grow legs and walk away during class so the packets are nice as two sets of packets are issued to each student and they are responsible for keeping track of their finish. Dries nice, dries clear, keep track of your time with the shortened pot life.
