hi

None - it will soften the blank.
You cannot stiffen a rod blank with thread. You can only soften it through the additional of weight. A Throop Tiger Wrap is going to require two layers of thread, and a coat of finish to boot, then you'll have an overwrap to hold the guides. That's a lot of weight by the time you get done. Maybe okay on very heavy trolling or boat rods, but it'll be quite noticeable on anything lighter. ............. Re: tigerwrap under guides

If you're building a light rod (freshwater), I'd agree with Tom. But, you really don't need to do a tiger for the entire wrap either. You can limit the tiger wrap to the exposed area between the feet without harming the action of the rod, as the area under the guide feet will only have a single layer under-wrap. 8 to 10 kilo is around 16 to 20 lb i guess Tristan Sydney, NSW Australia Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
