i FOUND A OLD ROD AT A YARD SALE AND ITS LOOKS LIKE 5 SIDED BAMBOO PRESSED ONTO A WOODEN HANDLE COVERED WITH CORK HANDLES OR WHAT WAS LEFT OF CORK HANDLES AFTER I GOT THE REAL SEAT OFF AND STARTED TO CLEAN THE CRUSTY FINISH OFF i SAW THAT IT WAS SIGNED HOWARD BONBRIGHT 1938 # 822 ANY ONE EVER HEAR OF HIM I GOOGLED HIM AND IT REALLY ONLY DAYS HE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO TYE FLY S FOR TARPON IN SOUTH FLA Re: HOWARD BONBRIGHT

Did some looking this evening and he and his brother George started Tarpon fishing in 1929 with fly rods. When they were unable to get a custom rod to meet their specs they started building their own. Cant give you the number or the years manufactured. Google "HOWARD BONBRIGHT fishing", there's an individual by this name known for his tarpon records and fly tying. If he was into fly tying he may have been into rod building as well....
