Try sz 12 stripper, go to sz 08 if you think you need a 2nd stripper.
Then sz 1 running guides.
You could go even smaller on the running guides, say to 1/0.
There is more than one way to do these, personal prefferences are involved.
I lean towards slightly larger on fly rods to make sure knots pass thru easily.

Best wishes,

12 and 8, and then all size 1 snakes to the tip, assuming they'll easily pass your required line and connections.

You can also go single foot guides Less thread wraps - less finish - less weight

Buzz,
If your customer is persistent in using snakes.
You might at least try the light wire double foot titanium guides.
He will appreciate the reduction in swingweight along with the increased feel and sensitivity.

Come on Bill,
You can't buck tradition. But you can start a transition. I advise new rod builders to use double foots, mainly to get more practice on wrapping the guides and then listen to how many times they put the tie off loop in backwards. It's great fun. But that's what it's all about. Lifes to short to be grumpy. (:

that is definitely funny Dave

But then do you when some one asks you directions --- do you tell them the wrong way -- just for laughs LOL

You bad LOL

Well, when someone from out of town stops me on main street and asks me if I know how to get to Newport, I look at them straight in the eye and say "yes I do" and keep walking.

Bill,

My singles are on a 7 wt and a 9 wt but thanks. I may tape both sets on and let him cast with them and then pick... Good idea

My personal choice on that short and light of a rod would be a single stripping guid, #10, then a single size 3 snake, then size 1 or smaller snakes out to the tip.
you don't need 2 stripper guides on that short of a rod, nor that large...just adds unnecessary weight...
