David,
Our Chromaseal was formulated to work on all thread but was especially tested on Madeira. I know you won't be disappointed. Thanks Scott Scott Parsons 919-900-8998 [www.roddancer.com] [www.fishhawkthreads.com] Re: which cp???

I say spend $15 on all the CPO's, test them and see what works for you. Seriously, ther eis a WIDE variance from user to user with the same CP. I have a bottle of CP here which was given to me by somoene who consistantly had poor reslts with epoxy sticking to it and fisheyes. I use it no problems. They switched to another CP, never have a problem. Find what works FOR YOU, stick with that and never switch unless you spend time testing a new CP.
PS - teh level of color retention DOES vary from CP to CP, they all do not work the same. But what good is it if you can't get that brand to work for you? Re: which cp???

On the Cason's....did you try the solvent based one? I found it a lot like using clear nail polish. Same thickness and drying time. In 15 minutes you know if you are "good to go". Not perfect color retention but not bad. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: which cp???

I use U40 Color lock and Casons Water based. I also use Chromaseal at times. It's odd, but each one works better for different applications. Especially when it comes to feather inlays and cross wraps. I haven't had any issues with Cason's not holding threads though. David Dosser Coshocton, OH Re: which cp???

Hi David
I'm using Chromaseal on Madeira and get good results. You need 3 or 4 coats and be sure you get plenty around the guide foot if your not using an underbind or you will get some thread darkening in this area. What Billy says is true and what works for one doesn't always work for everyone. Do some experimenting on a scrap piece of blank with a light, medium and dark colour and see what you get with different cps. Then you will now what works for you.
