I read in an email from Corkland that they were at the Expo this last year. Sadly I was not able to attend. Did they have cork products for sale at the last expo or demo models only?
Do they sell in amounts as small as 100 rings or do you have to order "importer" quantities? Anyone deal with them? They said in their email that they would be attending this year also. If they bring a bunch along for sale I may have to bring an empty carry on bag along to fill up at the show. Thanks, buzz Re: corkland and Joaquim Loureiro

They sell through dealers, although they may sell direct if your order meets whatever their minimum is. I can't imagine that you could come out very well ordering just 100 rings from an overseas supplier, although I really have no idea what the freight and customs fees (if any) would be.

That's why I am confused as to why I am getting their emails. I am not a dealer. Maybe I'll shoot them an email and see what their requirments for ordering are. Re: corkland and Joaquim Loureiro

They don't know who is or who isn't a dealer. Mass marketing.

Joaquim is a manufacturer, he just brings samples to the show each year.
You can import yourself, but you have to buy quite a bit to make it work AND you need an FEI number, business licenses, the ability to collect/remit excise tax, etc. In addition, there are forms to complete for US Customs and Homeland Security. Basically, it isn't easy ... but it can be done. A much easier answer ... Bingham Enterprises to the left. Karen is a dealer for Mar Ktruz LDA and has quite a bit of their stock ... natural, burl, burnt and designer. Re: corkland and Joaquim Loureiro

Buzz, I also got an email, which I replied to. Joaquim sent another email which had a price list attached which was in Euros and I haven't done a conversion yet. Seemed to me like he was wanting to sell direct. He also sent me about $30 worth of samples of their various grades of cork, burl and rubberised cork, all very nice. Don't need any at the moment, I'll get in touch with him when I do and find out the full story.
