Double footed guide placement

Does it really matter which way you place a double footed guide on the blank? I have built a few rods and turned them around because I like how it flows on the rod. But can anyone provide me if their is an integrity issue or anything else that I might be hindering myself by doing this? Re: Double footed guide placement

Garey,
This occupation is called CUSTOM rod building. You can put a guide on any way that you like, The convention is that you place the guide in the traditional way, to perhaps get slightly better bracing and perhaps less line tangle. But, in the end, it is really up to you as the builder to build a rod that you like. If the line flow works better for you with the guides positioned a particular way, go for the guide installation in that manner. Good luck Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
