Looking for anyone with experience with a particular brand, make model for a 5'6" 2 pc or 3 pc spin rod freshwater UL power. Could even go to 6 ft if I could find it in 3 pc. St. Croix saltwater versions are way too stiff.
thanks, Buzz Re: 5'6, or 6 ft ul spin blank, 2 pc or 3 pc.. and the winner is...

Take a look at the Rainshadow SB720-4. It is a 6'0", 4-piece rod that is really nice. I have a pair and they have traveled the country extensively. Wonderful for everything from trout streams to bluegill-filled lakes. VERY reasonably priced as well. Re: 5'6, or 6 ft ul spin blank, 2 pc or 3 pc.. and the winner is...

I have used the Amtac Matrix 2 piece 66 inch UL with graet success. Also the Rainshadow in a similiar configuration for trout, panfish and small stream brownies. Re: 5'6, or 6 ft ul spin blank, 2 pc or 3 pc.. and the winner is...

I had one of St Croix's UL 5 1/2' think it was a SCIV. Was to stiff and in order to load I had to add split shot

Love the stcroix 3s56ulf-2. Very light and sensitive. I have one of the batson SP720-4 ultralite, great little rod. A real blast on the trout and breaks down into a nice packable 18" long. I havent tried the SB720-4 but see it is rated as light, with a little heavier line and lure rating than the SP Re: 5'6, or 6 ft ul spin blank, 2 pc or 3 pc.. and the winner is...

X3 with Jim. The SB720-4 is a killer blank regardless of the price (which is pretty small).
