Hi All,
I am building a catfish rod for a customer.Its a spinning rod 7'. I have done the search and I cant find the guides I need. I need a single foot, stainless frame,with a pink color ring.Well I guess if I can find the ring it dont matter what kinda frame. Can anybody help?? thanks,,mikeb Home Town,Gretna VA Re: guides

You aren't likely to find a ring in a pink color. If you need to include pink in your rod's color scheme, try getting it with pink thread.

Yeah thats kinda the conclusion I had come to ,Tom.

American Tackle holographic PVD coated rings have a green/gold/purple/pink colour depending on the angle the light strikes it from. Pac Bay Illusion is the same sort of finish too. Pretty sure they are olny available in the illusion/holographic or the TiCH coated frame though. Re: guides

Mike,
Several years ago a friend showed me work that he did to make red rings. It has been some time ago, here's what I remember. First, it was necessary to acquire guides with white shock rings. The shock rings were then dyed. I believe he used regular fabric dye. He did mention using the stove top method in doing his work. [www.ritdye.com] Don Don Becker Re: guides

If you apply a little vinegar to the process, it tends to "set" the dye.

I think he is gonna go with the holo/tich.
