I am new to rod building, and I noticed the common cents system. Now, I haven't read very much about it yet, but so far, it appears to be specifically designed for fly rods. My question is does it apply to casting/spinning rods for bass fishing? How helpful is the information since we don't have specific line weights to determine as in fly fishing? Should I learn about this system?
Thanks everyone, Joel Re: The common cents system

It does not measure fly rods, nor casting or spinning rods. It measures, by objective and relative means, action, power and speed.
Any rod or blank that has these inherent properties can be measured by the Common Cents System. ............... Re: The common cents system

I always measure the ern power on my bass rods because some are so close you cant really tell from just feeling. But the numbers do not lie. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
