Flocking

This question is directed at those that have been flocking their grips for a few years.

I've been using a couple of my own rods for two years with no problems but can anyone comment on how they've held up after 5+ years of normal use or even hard usage?

Any flaking or areas where perhaps the flocking has rubbed thin?

Thanks,
Chad Huderle

The flocked surface has wear characteristics just like everyting else - use them an they will wear thin. Heavy use guide service can wear most off in a year of fishing. I have only two that are five years old and been in moderately heavy use. The flocked surface is very thin - not failed but thin. I can see no cork exposed and the color is still consistant wine. I fI was bugged about how they looked or felt I would have no hesitance to reapply fresh flock - just not my priority.
