I was talking to Danny at Trondak this morning. He informed me that they have found a good source for the base ingredient which they use to make PermaGloss and therefore plan to keep the present product in the line for the foreseeable future. He added that they may see such products eventually regulated out of existence at some point in the future, but for now they will not be discontinuing it.

If you'll take the PG and pour it all into a small metal paint can, filling the can to the brim as close as possible, then shut the lid and pop a small hole near the bottom and seal it with a screw eye, it'll last for years in any kind of humidity or temperature.
Mickel's Custom Rods used to have the cans and the instructions. ........... Re: PermaGloss

Only wat to go!
Get two bottles and fill the can - 200 rods over two years! Amazing stuff when used properly! Sure glad to hear of the comeback! Thought I had lost a good friend! Click on: [www.rodbuilding.org] Re: PermaGloss

Maybe it's obvious to everyone but me, but I'm not sure what the screw eye is for. To provide a plug for the hole you use to get it out of the can? A very small hole being better than a big one? thanks, Mick Re: PermaGloss

Yes, it's a plug. And a screw eye gives you something to grab and twist. You could use a small screw just as well, but you couldn't remove it by hand. You'd have to employ a wrench or a pair of pliers.
