Hi guys, a buddy of mine just found out he has cancer. He is a great musician (won and placed top 5 in many fiddler conventions) and an even better person. If you look up Bluegrass 1101 he is the guitar player, and his banjo player now plays in our band. The banjo player has decided to put together a benefit to help his family with financial hard ships. His wife thought he was having a stroke(slurred speech,ect.) and took him to the emergency room last week. They discovered it was actually a brain tumor. Doctors are now only giving him 2 weeks to 3 months to live. His mother also died of cancer at a young age. I would like to build a fly rod to give to the family for a raffle at the benefit. I was just wondering if anyone could help out with components, or a blank. It doesn't even have to be free, it could just be good deal. I have thread, epoxy, ect. I build my own reel seat inserts, and have been using Batson BUL5 skeletons. I plan on building an 9 ft. 5 wt. I'm just a hobby builder and have no money interest in this build at all. Also I would be willing to trade labor of turning reel seats inserts and/or cork grips for partsl. I will post pictures of my work very shortly. Even more important than donation of materials is your thoughts and prayers for him and his family. Sorry for the sob story, but I really hate to see anyone in this condition.
