Hi there
I am planning on building some crankbait rods on some glass blanks. I will be using micros and would like to try a spiral wrap on one of them. I did a search on the site and saw one thread where they suggested not to do a spiral on a glass crankbait rod. Can someone shed some light as to why no spiral on these blanks? Just looking to expand my knowledge and make better choices on my builds. Thanks! Re: Glass Blanks

I see no reason why it can't be done, I have two glass rods built that way. Re: Glass Blanks

I can't think of a reason either. Re: Glass Blanks

Hasn't caused any problems on the ones I've done either. I'd like to hear the reason behind that line of thinking. Re: Glass Blanks

Spiral wraps on glass guides are fine. I have done several with 0 issues.
Take care Roger Re: Glass Blanks

I have rods 5 and 6 on the table waiting for parts that are spirals with micro guides and I have had no problems either. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
