Gents I have the very,VERY good luck to get a 2002 prototype 2 piece surf rod blank from Lamiglas. Now you have to understand that I do not own a 2 piece fishing rod and thought I never would but this blank is just the absolute sweetest surf rod blank I've EVER had in my hands and I've handled a lot of them over 40+ years of fishing and rod building. I'm dead serious, here.
The S glass tip is 9/64ths at the tip and is 611/2'' long, the graphite butt is also 611/2'' and the butt OD is .958" the wall at the butt is .019". That's a pretty substantial graphite butt section and reflects the up to 40lb test line rating. It's cast weight rating is 1-3oz. The blank when joined is just a bit butt heavy which I happen to like; makes for better balance and easier casting. When I take this blank in hand the visions of a long smooth powerful cast and then a deep fighting bend come to mind right now. I'm not an employee of Lamiglas nor an advocate just a fisherman-rodbuilder who is impressed as all get out with this offering from Lamiglas. The blank # is CSB 120 2M.
