I would like to build a sabiki bait rod but I dont have any idea how to go about it . Just wondering if anyone on this forum has experience building them and has some info about how to go about it. Thanks for any help.

It really depends on the size of the bait you be catching, line weight and weight on the end of the Sabiki. Here in NJ they catch Herring in the inlet and most guys use a medium spinning in the 7 to 8 foot range.

Larry, I assume you mean the type that the sabiki rig runs down the middle /inside of the rod? So you can store the rigs inside the rod and it does not get fouled on everything.
The ones i have made all failed within a year. I used the back parts of Crappie rods to build them and they just are not strong enough. Good hardtail hits it and they died. Or they are so stiff you may as well use the PVC tubing like the do around Orange Beach/Pensacola. Those weight too much to be fun.
I will be looking for a lightweight 8 ft glass pole at ICBRE for my next try!
