ngc question

I read a fair amount of info regarding the NGC system of guide layout and understand that when the empirical data was analyzed the intersect guide ended up being between 26x and 29x the diameter of the spool face.
If I am laying out a rod, how would I account for the desire to switch reels with different line weights or different line capacities, ie different spool diameters? One of my reels has a spool diameter of 6cm, and the other one is 7cm. If I want to use either one with the rod, how would that affect the ngc layout? Would I build to an average or build to the largest face? This is a surf rod (the one I mentioned in the thread "surf rod handle') 13' (actually 12'-9" since i removed a 3" wood extension and mounted the butt cab to the blank) rated for 2-6 oz casting weight. I bought guides from 50 down to 10 with a 12 tip. Thanks Re: ngc question

you have a few options1- you can set it up for one of the reels. it will work for the other just not as ideal( i would bet that you will not lose much if anything noticeable in performance) 2- take an average between the two reels and settle on the happy medium Re: ngc question

I can't really add anything to what JP just told you. As long as the difference in reel size isn't tremendous, performance isn't going to change drastically.

Thanks. I was considering setting it up for the larger reel. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
