What is the best glue to use after you cut cork to make checkerboard handles?

waterproof glue such as tightbond 2 or 3 works best but epoxy has been used also. it will show glue lines. though

I always use Titebond III unless I am using foam inserts, then I use 15 min Rod Bond just on the foam inserts and Titebond on the rest
