K series size??

I am planning a build for a 7 foot walleye rod for pitching #5 shad raps and Salmo hornets with 8lb fireline into wind blown shorelines. It's gonna be on a MHX-CB841 and I want to utilize the Fuji K series single foot guides on this build.
I usually run something like a 25-16-8-6-6-6-6-6 on my spinning setups. Being that I can only find the KLAG down to a size 12, my question is this. What have you guys been running for transition/choker guides with a K series set up?? Would a KTAG in an 8 be too low for a choker guide(KLAG 25-16, KTAG 8-6-6-6-6-6)? Thanks Re: K series size??

I would run BLAG6J's as my choker and running guides if I were building this setup. J.B.Hunt Bowling Green, KY Re: K series size??

Is it common to use a K series as your stripping guide only?? I did this on a light trout rod for throwing panther martins. Used a KLAG20 and recoils the rest of the way. That set up works well. Just curious what other people are doing with the K guides. Re: K series size??

KTAGs from 5.5mm down are snug to the blank. IMO, you should be looking at KLAGs for your butt guide and transitional guides, followed by KTAGs the rest of the way. You will like the "tangle-free" design, they work well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
