I just received RM in the snail mail. As always it is full of new pics and ideas to expand on. For me it is time to stoke up the stove in my own little Man Cave Rod Shop turn up the tunes (50's to 60's) and work on new ideas. Have a happy! I well doing what I like to do, build rods when it is cold outside 15% in NW Washington, with white stuff predicted. Thanks again Tom for a fantastic forum and Mag. Maybe next year I well improve on my grammar and punctuation. I feel lonely now that I use spell check ::))))smiling

Don't feel lonely Bob, you have a lot of friends on this forum. I too will start the new year by building a new rod. January is a great year for fishing the surf on the Gulf Coast for redfish, black drum, and whiting. I am anxious to try a light surf rod and I am going with a Batson Forecast TS90M-GB. I haven't decided on making it a casting or spinning rod. However, I will put a jackfish weave on it. I will do this weave to remind me of the time, while wade fishing, that a jackfish spooled me.

Ellis you bring back memories. I lived on the Gulf most of my life and really miss it. I have not received my copy yet but i am sure it will be good as always.
Happy New year
Paul
