American Tackle Company where are the products made?

With the name you assume there products are made in the U.S. I was wondering if anyone on here knew if this was true or if they manufacture their products in China or somewhere else?

Like the majority of products offered to rod builders, most of them are made overseas. They do not use the name to indicate where their products are made. It is simply the name of the company, which is located here in the U.S.

Hello Bobby,

Tom is correct. The name is original to the Meehan family who started the company over 25 years ago and does not indicate that we are a U.S. manufacturing facility. While we are entirely U.S. family owned, we source from countries around the world which includes China, Taiwan, Korea and the U.S. Although we own tooling & molds, we will develop or co-develop products from several factories open to our designs and specifications. Quality, availability, pricing, and control over the manufacturing & raw materials are all criteria used while we utilize each factory's manufacturing strength. Unlike some brands we will not rely on a single factory to supply all of our needs byt that I mean, a great guide factory may not build the best reel seats and threads & finishes generally won’t be made alongside of grips etc. We feel strongly that the development of product includes sourcing everywhere, especially in today’s global market. I suppose if you were to define us by the name, we are an “American Tackle Company” that will not limit our diverse product line by locale of manufacturing.

Hope this explains.

Best Regards,

Darrin Heim

Darrin just explained how products are made and sold in todays world, just look at cars, toys and even tooth past. Like all the products We use in rod building today. Each company has a a strict policy on how their product is made and they are on top of quality control. Think about it, if these companies made a poor product. That would be out of business in a heart beat.

Good Wraps Bob
