Minima Tip-Top

Seems like there have been a lot of posts on Minima's lately including mine. What I have noticed is that no one seems to be using the PB model P or Mv minima top-top. Some use a Fuji or single foot minima. I would rather not use a single foot as a tip-top( just my preference). Cosmetically I would think that a Minima tip-top would look good. Like the model P with different ring sizes. Is there a weight problem with a minima tip-top that I am not aware of or am I just over thinking this one? Thanks again for all your help.

Those tops are not available in sizes smaller than a size 6 ring. For that reason many folks wind on a single foot guide or use a different type of tiptop. Functionally it would make little difference.

Don,
Good news,
I just received a large order of minima rods from a sponsor on the left.
Mixed in with my order was a large order of very small ring minima tips.

These tips were size 3 and 4 - with 4, 4.5, and 5.0 tube sizes.

I sent them back and Karen has them in stock at Bingham.

I looked over the tips very carefully and they are an excellent matching guide for the minima 4 chrome guides.

These are brand new guides that have just come on the market.

If Pac Bay has released some new small ring Minima tips that is great, the tip they had before was pretty bulky and old school. A CFAT Alconite #6 tip works better, it is nice and compact, the ID is similar to the #4 Minima, and you have a ceramic ring where the vast majority of wear will occur.
