HV Guides - Still available?

I was perusing my favorite online fishing catalog (OK, it was Mudhole) when I noticed that virtually no HV guides were listed: no Hardloy, no Alconite, no SiC, nothing (there was a single HVSG guide available, in size 25, but that hardly counts).

So I browsed over Anglers Resource, and they have no HV guides listed in their catalog, either. A brief search on a few other online retailers showed a few who were still selling them, but the selection was a lot less than there was just a few months ago.

Has Fuji stopped making these? Or have they stopped importing them to the US? Or, as is usually the case, am I missing something?

I ask because I've come to like the HV guide style very much - it's a very good match for the surf rods I build. I'd be sad to learn that they're no longer available, or that they're only available from Japan. I'd hate to think that I found really good, high-framed spinning guides, only to learn that they got taken off the market as soon as I realized how good they are.

Chris -- We have not been able to obtain them here in the U.S. for some time now. Not really sure if it is just a situation of Angler's Resource not carrying them any longer or they are being dis-continued from Fuji/Japan.

Thanks for the reply, Bob - I apprecite it.

I've learned that Fuji has evidently discontinued the HV guides, and that they will be going the way of the dodo soon. The K guides, they feel, make the HVs obsolete. I don't know that I agree with that, but I guess I'm going to have to find a way to live with it.
