Printers for weaving

I am really enjoying doing weaving and as I look through the works of art some of you have done I have noticed what looks like full size color printouts. I am thinking of investing in a laptop and a printer to use in my shop for this purpose and I would like some recommendations from those of you with experience in this as to what kind of printer and/or software I should be looking for. The printouts look much larger than regular size copy paper and ideally I would like to print it out in color on graph paper to make left lists easier to create

Thanks
Jim

I am just blown away by some of the weaves I am seeing here.

I have an old HP Deskjet 932C that I bought in '94 and has served me well. It is an ink jet type of printer. Until a couple of weeks ago I was using a cross stitch pattern maker called PCStitch to make my patterns. For some reason it will not load properly on my new computer. The pattern maker software allows me to make my patterns as large as two little squares per inch-that is big. I have made and printed all letters of the alphabet indivdually on 8.5X11 inch pages. Sometimes I print my fish patterns so big that I need to print them on three pages. When I do that, I just trim the edges and tape the pages together. I have poor eyesight now and the large patterns help alot.

VisualWEAVE lets you specify the number of grid cells per inch to print. When it prints out on multiple pages you can then join the pages, similar to what Ellis suggested.

A printer that prints on larger paper would make this easier.

Hi, Jim,
HP Designjet printers used in engineering offices are excellent printers; B&W and color
Holds paper rolls.
See HP's website.
Good Luck
I see you are making great advances with your "new" stuff.

Jim,

I generally print on 4-6 pages and cut/tape them together, Visual Weave is GREAT when it comes to increasing cell size etc. Much easier to see and work with
