I really did it this time!, I had part of a 2oz, bottle of part B, and had a 4oz bottle of part A that was not completley filled so I looked at the 2oz bottle and didn't bother to look at the label, it looked just like the part A epoxy so I poured it in the part A botttle then I noticed it wasn't the same part, so then I quickley poured out some of the part A bottle that I poured the part B into threw that away, then I mixed a batch for the 2nd coating, it looked ok when it was in the mixer, turned color then went back to clear like usual, then I applyed it, and it looks like it is hardening just fine, so then I emptied the part A bottle into a container and got out all the stuff that was hardening, and cleaned the bottle out with denatured alcohol, and poured it back in the bottle, so now it looks just like before, hope it turns out ok for the next wraps I do. I just checked my wraps, they are doin really good, shouldn't be long now! I got really lucky this mess up, I won't do that again, its only my third rod I ever wrapped. wish me luck! Thank You. Lorenzo,
Situations like this are exactly the reason that I put a couple of large marks on everything to do with epoxy when I first receive the epoxy. i.e. I use a heavy black marker to make a large A on the part A container, and a large B on the part B container. I do the same thing for Syringes, and any other container or glue that is a two part mix. I generally get new containers if I need to fill epoxy from a bulk epoxy source for convient use in the shop. I buy conveneinet sized bottles and or containers at the surplus store for 10-30 cents each and again, before filling them, insure that they have been well marked with either the A or B on the side of the container. I then generally put a wrap of clear wrapping tape around the container, so that the marks don't get worn or washed off during use of the container. Take care Roger Re: put A with B epoxy

I put RED plastic tape on one part and GREEN plastic tape on the other part and (as Roger) I also write A's and B's on each container and put thick clear (wrapping / strapping) tape over the marks. I make sure to cover the measuring marks on syringes with clear wrapping tape also so the marks don't disappear with use. Takes a little time - but eliminates the confusion Re: put A with B epoxy

you are absolutely right, I should have looked closer, because i did mark them, i guess I was in too much of a hurry, I'll just have to put a more noticable mark on eachm and be more careful. lol! the finish did harden, i got lucky on that one! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
