Tattoo ?????

I am changing a relatively new build into a Pittsburg Steelers rod. It was a plain jane so I added some yellow/gold thread bands with a little red and blue to try to match their logo.

Living in the hometown of the NFL Hall of Fame , I visited the gift shop hoping for a small decal. My choices were very poor for the size I needed so I thought I would try some thing a little different and I purchased tempoary tattoos, you know, the kind you put on your skin with a wet cloth. I let it dry and applied CP and it seems to be taking. I am trying it on a scrap piece of blank and will try the epoxy in the morning. If it works, it will open up a lot of new possibilities, unless of course some of you have tried it already.

Ii will keep you posted.

I've used the Game Faces brand for several small college themed rods where a vinyl, higher end type decal was not available. I've had really great luck using them. Biggest thing was giving them time to dry since that brand is a wet application.

I built a little boy a Spiderman rod and used Spiderman stickers from Wal Mart . Put on a coat of CP and finished it. Worked great.

Speaking of doing things with team logos. I wanted decals small enought to put one on each of my guide wraps on a hawkeye rod for a gift, very tiny. After being frustrated trying to get one small that looked good, I found fingernail decals of all things. They're waterslide, virtually every team available, come in a pack of around 20 with different sizes for different guide sizes (fingernail sizes) :) Looked really good when I got them in the mail too. I'm sure someone has thought of this but who knows. When i get them on the rod I'll post the pics.

Well, After a coat of ThreadMaster lite the only problem I see is the colors are a little weak to my eye. I`m sure the recipient will not even notice. so I guess all is well in the tattoo world.
