Not sure what you mean - guides are held on by thread, not tape.

Yes and have got a good supply of that now but noticed in some books that I looked at there is a wider tape that can be used when decorating the rod! Possibly made by gudebrod but maybe by other manufacturers' any clues? Re: braided thread

Gudebrod HT metallic braid (if you can find it); YLI "candlelight" and Superior Threads "Razzle Dazzle" (polyester with metallic braid) from fabric stores are two others Re: braided thread
