Hi
I am looking putting some Decals on my Lamiglas blank. How do some of you go about printing decals to be used on dark blanks using home printers. ? I will be using an Epson Inkjet. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/28/2010 07:10AM by Bill Jovanovski. Re: Decals on black blanks

Bill,
What I do is put down an under wrap of light colored thread and use a label with black lettering. Just need to put epoxy over the thread so that there is a smooth surface for the label so you don't have bubbles showing up. Re: Decals on black blanks

Or.......if your printer will print deep enough black you can make a black background and then your lettering or logo in any other color including a knockout for white. The black background of the decal will blend into the black color of the blank making everything but the lettering or logo disappear. Re: Decals on black blanks

if your printer can do photo-quality printing, just buy the white vinyl decal paper from swampland or papilio. Calculate the circumference of the blank and make that the height of your decal image.
I've been using 2 coats of krylon UV protectant and then a coat of color preserver on all my decals. Some type's of black ink jet ink will fade badly in the sun (turn green). some won't. Regards, -Justin Re: Decals on black blanks
