Casting in resin question

I have been viewing the photos on this forum and would love to try a few new things. One of the things I would like to try is a resin casting with a fly in it in the faux ivory of a grip. My question is, what keeps the resin casting from just falling off? Is there a recessed angle milled into the ivory, or does the resin just fuse together with the faux ivory from the chemical reaction.
Thanks, Jeff Re: Casting in resin question

It has some bonding properties. If the surface you're applying it to has been prepared to a "water-break-free" condition, the resin will bond to it.
