Doing a spiral on a 7' 8" gator fiberglass blank for Catfishing. Plan is 15 in handle then real seat still debating on foregrip but about 6 inches i believe. First guide will be a 24 at 0degrees 2nd will be a size 10 at 40 degrees off top 3rd will about 40 degrees from botton also a 10 4 th will be 180 degrees and on out. any recomendations for how many more i should use to get to the tip or at least spacing ideas?
This will be a Catfish Boat rod for drift fishing the ohio river for blues and flats. This is a fast action tip with a 30-80lb line recomendation and will be running 50 lb power pro braid. Thank you in advance. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/23/2010 12:16PM by Vince Nadosky. Re: Looking for guide spacing assistance. 7'8" Gator

From the first 180 guide to the tip you can set it up like you would the spacing on a spinning rod, but just stick to all the same sized guides.
