MHX big lakes rods

Just got home from fishing Holland Michigan for some Lake Michigan silver fish. The lake didn't dissappoint us. The goal was to bend a few of the new MHX glass blanks designed for trolling. I can say that the MHX blanks were just as billed, awesome for Great Lakes trolling. Very nice soft actions, with plenty of power in the butt end. We pulled copper and leadcore off inlines and the rods performed beautifully. When the lake got choppy, the soft action of the rods kept the boards in the water, not in the air. Can't say so much for the arial steelhead. Can't wait to see the full line when they come out. Now to sort out all the video and photos.

Good to know. I've thought about making a few myself. Need a salmon boat though.... Garage is full with the bass boat and hunting boat and i don't think mama will go for a 3rd even though she LOVES salmon.

Are you from the holland area? i live in Rockford just north of GR.

Regards,
-Justin

I am from the Saginaw/Frankenmuth area. I have only seen a couple versions of the blanks, but if the rest are as good as these two, there won't be much of a need for any others to fill voids. Hopefully they a few for diver rod applications as well.
