White acrylic under wrap

If I want to negate the affect of a black colored blank on the color of a thread I am wrapping, can this be negated by painting the blank white where the wrap is going to go. Will the acrylic stick to the blank? Will the acrylic interfer with guides being firmly affixed to the rod? In other words, would the acrylic break loose from the rod and allow the line guide to change its position? I cannot imagine that, but it is a thought. The other way I can think of to go here is to use a white underwrap...which adds more weight to the rod. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Clinton

It's a common practice and will be just fine.

Does thread weigh more than paint?

This should be interesting. Logic would tell me that the paint would be lighter than the thread when you add the epoxy. Increased diameter, increased weight. I'm sure someone will enlighten us all. I'd like to know if I'm wrong. Very little diff. I think.
