If anyone is looking for a good ultra-light blank at a great price this is it! I have been making ultra-light trout rods for almost 30 years and have used every thing from Fenglass to Loomis IMX and this blank is up with the best of them. I cut a foot of the blank to make a 5'6" rod and used the rod this morning to cast 1/32 oz jigs on one of my favorite streams and the rod just felt right. My all time favorite blank is still the St. Croix 5S59ULF, but St. Croix doesn't make it anymore and when they did it was $90. This blank is second only to the St. Croix. If Todd Vivian reads this a 5'6" fast action UL blank would sure be nice.

I did one for a customer as a retirement gift for his coworker. He loved it. I also cut one foot off the blank.
EDIT: I checked the build sheet - I only shortened it to 6'. The customer loves it. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/03/2010 08:48PM by Chuck Mills. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
