Weighted caps are a more feasible solution that an adjustable reel seat IMO. In my experience, it takes 4-5 inches of adjustment or more to compensate for a relatively small (<2 ounces) change in reel weight. Jason Cosby Cos Rods Re: bass balancing

What about a pair of cushioned hoods with collett nuts at each end ? Use a 1" straight graphite handle and 1" nylon collets at each end of the hoods. No visible threads. Infinite adjustment within the length of the grip. Compression fittings may also work if the outside dia is not too obtrusive.
