Uncured finish

I recently put finish on a newly completed buttwrap, and I always keep the unused leftover finish to check to make sure everything turns out alright. I glad I did because the finish has not set up completely yet and is still a little tacky after 48 hours. I must have mixed a little too much of one of the compounds. Can I just cover with a fresh batch of good finish and everything be alright for the life of the rod.

Yes, provided you carefully measure and mix the new batch.

How did you measure out the finish. I have been using syringes for years and have never had a problem. - Did you mix long enough ??

I use the syringes since I started, but this was a long wrap so I use 3cc and then refilled another 2cc. I have a feeling I forgot to put the extra 2cc of one the elements. I have use the same 3cc syringes for the last year and never had a problem. The new batch of finish cured and leveled out nicely, I was curious if I would have any problems with the first application. Thanks for your timely responses.

Should not be a problem at all. The second coat will mix with the first coat and be like one hard coat.
