any of our vendors have the hook keepers for Southbend 359 bamboo rods ? will also need 1 new stripper guide. Bought 2 at a shop the other day one 8.6" model, and one 9' model. 8.6" is missing stripper guide and hook keeper. was pretty stoked got both for 50.00. both had 2 tips (slightly shorter than original as is common) and both had original rod socks with labels. will also be looking for silk thread and appropiate varnish for these. this is my first bamboo rebuild any advice appreciated.
thanks Eric Re: HOOK KEEPER FOR SOUTHBEND 359

I doubt anyone will know what that keeper looks like just from "Southbend 359." You'll have to try and take a photo of the one you have and post it on the photo page.

I have the ring, but have lost the the straight piece of metal that holds it down. One could probably be fashioned from a piece of sheet metal, or wire. You can have the ring if you want it. E-mail me.
I turned my 359 into a bamboo blank with modern componentry and put ceramic stripper and tamer with single foot wire runners. I decided against the original keeper because I liked the funcionality of a fixed keeper. For me, the "keeper and ring" hook keeper was harder to use. If it's a hook and clasp type keeper, try Angler's Workshop.
