Not sure what you mean. Same spacing as what? Recommended by who? There are several methods of spiral wraps and they all work. IMO, it's just a matter of personal preference. I personally prefer the "Simple" Spiral (also called the Bumper Spiral) which ony involves one guide between the "Stripper" and 180 degree running guides. Use the same spacing you would if all the guides went on top conventionally, yes. Then flip them all over to the bottom except the transition guides, these will be the 1st guide closest to the reel and the next 1-2 guides toward the top. Take those 3 and make the line as straight as possible during the curve from the reel to the 1st 180 degree guide. 1/2 the fun is toying around with those 3 guides and casting the rod to try and get the best performance out of what you have.

I'm going to assume that you're asking if you take some of the regular guides and spiral them until you finally end up on the bottom, or if you add additional guides in there to perform that function.
The answer is yes and no. The Simple Spiral is a regular casting rod with all the guides except the butt guide flipped to the bottom of the rod. Then you go back and add one additional guide between the first two, without altering their spacing, to keep the line off the side of the rod. The O'Quinn spiral is pretty much a casting rod where the first several guides are in standard positions but spiraled a little, each one a bit more than the one proceeding it, until you reach the bottom of the rod about 2/3rds of the way up. Then you have the Roberts or Revolver type where you place guides at 0, 60, 120 and 180 all in the first foot or so, and then run the rest on out along the bottom of the rod. Lots of different ways to do it. You may wish to do a search here under "spiral wrap" and read up on the various methods. ............. Re: Spiral Wraps

Can I use micro guides on this spiral wrap, or do i need larger size guides? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
