I got a smudge of denatured alcohol on my redwood insert and it muddied the finish and raised it (almost like a fingerprint) in an area about 1 inch by one inch. Before I butcher it trying to fix it, I thought I'd ask if there's a simple way to get the "shine" back to that small area. Re: handle help

If its raised up it needs to be refinished. Did you put the original finish on? You can try using a scraper or just sandpaper and remove the destroyed finish and just refinish that area. If you didn't finish it you can try removing the bad area and hope that whatever finish you choose is the same as the original. If it were me, I would refinish the entire piece if I didn't put the original finish on. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
