I took about a 6 month break from wrapping and when I opened up my Flexcoat CP bottle I noticed that it stinks bad! It still seems to work but the smell makes me wonder if there's something wrong with it. Have any of you ran into this? Is it normal? (water based cp).

If so it sounds like the fluid you thinned it with has gone stagnent.
|Try a test peice and see how it comes out. the expoxy will mask any smell lol

It's thinned down with water. It seems to work o.k. It just smells like a dog fart!

If you thinned it with water, I wonder if you might have a bit of mold in the cp.

was the dog in the room when you opened it? Seriously I would say the water you thinned it down with either has allowed some mold or bacteria to form causing the smell.

I have some Flex Coat CP that smells like a dog fart, to be more specifically, a wet lab. It still works fine, just smells funky.

Thanks for all the replies. I have punished the dog accordingly. Also noted that the smell went away after drying for a while. I should write Flexcoat about this. Maybe they could put a warning label on it. "WARNING, THIS PRODUCT MAY SMELL LIKE WET LAB DOG FARTS"

Buy a new bottle - don't ever thin it with anything and you will likely be fine.
