i was doing some practice on wrapping a gold over old guide, and i put some color presoever on and it's seal pretty good but the color on gold turn into little dark than normal gold color but i was use a gudebrod nylon A gold..
i wonder how much sould i put color presoever on to turn in same color as gold on spool ? just a normal after seal it turn to dark gold ?? any help Josh Re: color presever

The thread color will darken quite a bit in some cases until the color preserver is dry then the thread will return close to it's original color. On a dark background though many light colors will be a shade or two darker regardless. Nature of the beast.

Raymond, thanks for explain on color presever and now i can see it on my wrapping guide, look good... still do some practice on 2 and 3 and 4 guides from tip pretty get smaller smallest on leg wrap more..

Keep your wraps tight against each other as any very tiny gaps will allow the background to show through and make the thread appear even darker or lighter depending on blank color. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: color presever

the old blank were broke but i just get rid of them and use to practice and the blank was kind dark brown i think it was browning rod but no brand on it.. i wonder do i have to do 1st coat of color presever then let it dry before do 2 coat or a final coat before put a finish coat on ?

i wonder how much should i put cp on thread ? should i brush it around wrap or just hold brush and rotate and leave the white to go through the thread ?? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
