Anglers was out of Gudebrod garnet so they offered me some pac bay thread. It looks ok but does not seem as fine as gudebrod. Anyone wrapped with it? Results? Re: pac bay thread

It's almost all I use - I love it!
It does not looks as finely twisted as what you are used to, but I almost never get "fuzzies" with it, and they have a lot of nice colors. Their metallics are really nice to work with too. I'd be surprised if you were not very happy with it. Good Luck, Marc Re: pac bay thread

I agree with Marc. I have been using it and really like it. As Marc said- no fuzzes. I am particular fond of the Midnight Black. It is blacker than Gudebrod Black, sort of a shiny Black , with no "fuzzes". Another thing I noticed, when making the very first wrap, locking the tag down, it does not slip as easily as the Gudebrod Black. I am slowly making a transition to Pac Bay and Fish Hawk. Really, no fuzzies! I hate fuzzies! I don't deal well with them. I can't see them even with a magnifier. When doing flyrods, the last thing you want to do is scrape off a fuzzy and reapply more finish. Not good. Will let you know how it works for me. Re: pac bay thread

I'm just starting to use Pac Bay and have been pleased so far.
Given Gudebrod's availability and lack of quality, its time for me to find something new. .................................................................... Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Re: pac bay thread

I use it a lot, only thing that bothers me about i is the way its wound on tho the spool in a cross wrap pattern makes it twist a bit when wrapping using my power wrapper. Otherwise it is a great thread.
