I am just wondering if there is a dealer (hopefully a site sponser) that sells "blank" rod tubes and socks that i could make to match my custom rods.
I had the idea after looking at a buddys sage rod and hearing how some G. Loomis rods come with cases. I have heard of the PVC pipe idea, but i was hoping something a little classier. (referring to Sage tubes) maybe brass ends and an aluminum(?) tube. Andrew Port Orchard, WA The Pacific Northwest Re: Custom Rod Tubes

Mudhole has Jet Tube Kits that might work for you.
[www.mudhole.com] You will have to figure out a way to get you name on them though. Re: Custom Rod Tubes

Bob thanks but thats the PVC type I was talking about.
Bill those are great! Those and the landmarkfly were what i was picturing! Tom I have seen some tubes but none seem to fit what I am wanting. And the ones that do have their own company logos plastered on the side. You know? Still trying to see if i can purchase the components seperately and assemble them myself and maybe same some dollars. Thanks for all of your help Andrew Port Orchard, WA The Pacific Northwest Re: Custom Rod Tubes

I've been buying from Landmark as well. Great people. I think REC makes logo tubes as well. Re: Custom Rod Tubes

Ron at Landmark also sells the tube components, but I have not used them and attempted to make my own tubes from them.
You might want to call Ron and discuss the process with him. Walt Natzke Ripon, CA Re: Custom Rod Tubes

Anglers Workshop Tubes are very classy, well made tubes.
For a label I'd try Decal Connection. Both are Sponsors listed on left Re: Custom Rod Tubes

This is probably heresay, but I just paid $19 at Bass ProShop for a travel rod tube that is marvelous. It is exactly the right size.
It has like 3" of foam on each end and holds the pieces firmly between the foam. It is cloth covered with a sling. What I loved about it is that it is for a travel rod and I can actually carry it on an airplane because it fits in my carryon bag. Just dont put any flies in the tube!! They also have ones made for two piece rods. It is very rugged which is what I need cause I'm hard on my stuff. It's just not real classy. Re: Custom Rod Tubes

Another question, do any of you sell your rods with rod tubes and socks? Andrew Port Orchard, WA The Pacific Northwest Re: Custom Rod Tubes

I will provide a tube and sock if the client wants me to get it. I have occasionally sold them. I made a gift rod for a relative and
provided it because they needed a way to safely store the rod. It all depends on the customer or situation. Re: Custom Rod Tubes

In my location its hard for most people to justify spending a couple hundred bucks on a rod
so as an insentive i was thinking about including rod tubes and socks. I wouldnt really be making a lot money but as Ihave read on this forum, "Dont get ointo rod building if youre trying to make money" Thanks for all the help I am going to go with landmarktubes Andrew Port Orchard, WA The Pacific Northwest Re: Custom Rod Tubes

I had some stick on vinyl decals made with my logo - I put those on the aluminum tubes for fly rods. Don't usually get requests for tubes for anything else. Thank you whoever you are WWW.WeSeekHerRods.com Re: Custom Rod Tubes

I build fly rods almost exclusively and include rods with every build. It is itemized in the invoice and the buyer knows up front about the cost. I have had several customers choose not to receive one. Walt Natzke Ripon, CA Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
