Thinking just CP on to blank and cover with light build then the dubble chevron over. Will it fade, will UV distroy the pictures, Will it crack. I have many more qusetions than answers and need some help. Herman Re: Pictures on rods

Some of my inkjet printed waterslide pics have gone a few seasons without fading. The waterslide media won't crack. You'll want to use the media with white paper backing. Make sure the ink is dry before coating with Krylon. Give it at least two light coats of the krylon allowing to completely dry between coats. Once the waterslides are mounted you may want to dab a little CP along the edges to help seal the paper edge and keep them from lifting up once you apply the epoxy. When I did the pics in the above link I wrapped the diamonds leaving a few wraps undone. I then cut the waterslides to fit neatly and wrapped the last few threads to give it all a nice clean edge to the boarder. Re: Pictures on rods

It's my understanding that most (if not all by now) thread finish epoxies have UV inhibitors in them. This should prevent the pics from fading. I would add that if you use Krylon (which I would not) be sure it is 100% dry as it contains silicone which WILL cause fish eyes in the epoxy (I learned from experience). I would likely coat both the edges and surface of the pic with just color preserver instead. I'm very sorry to hear about you friend's son. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
