Good Morning
I did my first rod stripping and refinish over the weekend. The problem i have is there is bubbles in my finish. I use a good finish brush to apply. How do i keep the bubbles out of my second coat. Thanks Tom Re: Rod Refinish

A little heat will go a long way, You can use a hair dryer to apply a little heat to the finish after you apply it to the rod and the bubbles will rise up and lift out much easier. Re: Rod Refinish

Bob
I used Cabot Spar Varnish Indoor Outdoor. Bought at Lowe's or Home Depot. Thanks Tom Re: Rod Refinish

Tom Spar varnish I believe is a oil base, Not a good finish for rods and it may darken or have a yellow tone after a while in the sun. I would use a good Urethane then let it set in a hot box at (95%) for 5 hours or use Permaglos Good Wraps Bob Re: Rod Refinish
