was wondering how these guides are , i want to possibly use these on a rod i want made using a St.Croix premier 8'6" xhf muskie blank ( i am gonna use it for throwing BIG swimbaits . the guides i'm looking at are the Double Black Chrome Stainless Frames with PVD Blue TiO Zirconium Rings . i have two other swimbait rods made on forecast blanks and American tackle ringlock "h" guides were used , i don't really like the ceramic rings on these and was hoping to have different guides on this new rod (the St.Croix) . any feedback would be appreciated ....

They will work great for that, I have some guide boat halibut rods in Alaska with the same color boat guides installed that are at least 4 years old now. They are still going strong.
I've used the same guides you're using on all my personal rods for many years now salt and freshwater with zero problems.

should i use double footed guides or can i use sigle footed running guides ? the rod will be spiral wrapped and the rod is gonna be used for swimbaits up to 16 0zs. gonna use a Revo toro winch 51 , gonna use 25-40 lb. co-poly line . any comments are welcomed ...

Peter,
If the rod was going to be a conventional rod, I would go with the double footed guides all the way to the tip.
But if you are using a sprial wrap, I would use double footed guides for the first three guides and then single footed guides after that to the tip.

I have used some of these guides in the same color and have nothing but nice things to say about the guides. Fine guides and as far as I know no issues with any sort of wear or any other problem.

Take care
Roger

they say that zirconium rings are equal to sic rings , what are you guy's thoughts on it . seems like these are a better alternative if they are !!!

Peter,

The Z rings are dang close to SIC, I've ran them on Musky rods for years with heavy braid and they do VERY well.

I've had them on a 13-6 Cts Surf blank for a couple years with no Problems. I'm using heavy braided line for Stripers
